Revs Don't Come Down - Engine or DCT Issue?

Why is it that if I accelerate and then let off the gas before it shifts it feels (and sounds!) like the engine revs stay high for a bit then come down, or is it the DCT? I can't tell. But it happens mostly in 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd gear. I don't think I noticed this on non-DCT cars. Is this a normal thing?

I personally think it is the logic of the transmission has issue. The DCT has logic issues with the first 3 gears. When Hyundai tech asked me what issues I think the DCT has, I pointed right at the first 3 gears as the logic behind these 3 are not smart enough to be logical for drivers in most situation.

Computer controlled to keep RPM's up. Manuals are the same today. Computer keeps the RPM's up so it's a smoother shift and better economy.

Sometimes. I personally don't mind much on keeping it high for a short time. I'm more concern on, keeping higher gear even I demand more by pushing it to the floor. That's is more noticeable when making a slow turn for intersection. When you are around the 2nd 3rd gear, and kind of released the gas a bit, once awhile it will hold onto 3rd gear even if you floor the gas and you know it will do a lot better in 2nd..

What mode are you in? ECO, normal or sport? I'm thinking sport.

The 2017's only have Normal and Sport mode. The Sport mode does keep the revs up for around 15 seconds + after letting off the gas. I don't use the sport mode much unless I'm in heavy traffic (helps the constant start and stops) or I really want to floor it coming off an exit ramp to get up to speed quick, although normal driving mode does just fine in that reguard.

I actually love the way the DCT drives. I like that it gives you the same type of driving control as a manual transmission. If you know how to and enjoy driving manuals (miss my old manuals) I really think the DCT is fun to drive.
