Lifetime deals for Sirius XM... anyone got?

I was randomly browsing some auto forums, reading a bit about Sirius XM, and it looks like you can get a lifetime Sirius XM membership. Not sure what it's based on, but it goes anywhere from $249 to $399. There are some restrictions, of course, such as it's only good for one device (unless it breaks), etc. Some people even got that deal for $199!

Anyone got good deals after the initial 3-month trial? I would take $199 lifetime any day, but I don't see it being available anywhere.

I've not heard about any lifetime deals but ill stick with my current deal which is roughly $60/ year. At $249 break even is four years and I don't keep cars much longer than that.

I'm still in the trial period with my new car, haven't decided if I want to keep it yet. It would be great if even though it's only aloud on one device, you could occasionally, maybe even for a small cost, transfer it to another device(like another vehicle if it's tied to your radio).

I do have one of those portable headunit things that can mount into a base in your car or at home on a radio, was given to me and it still works so I assume it has a lifetime membership!?!? Only problem I don't have any details on its account or anything so not sure what to do with it, if only I could transfer that to my car!

How did you get 60/year?

If you don't renew your subscription to sirus XM after the 3 month trial, and you wait a while, they eventually will keep sending you offers for better and better deals. Not sure if that is how Mikemu got his.

For the lifetime subscription though, I had also read this on another forum and thought this was interesting. I did find this link:

It says you need to call Sirius directly and ask for the lifetime subscription. I have seen a number of people get this on forums so it sounds like it does exist. But I haven't checked it out myself yet.

I don't know the price (says on this link it is $500) but perhaps it is negotiable?

Anyways I'm debating whether I want to continue sirius/XM or not after the 3 month trial is up. If I do continue, the lifetime subscription sounds like it might not be a bad idea if the price is right (assuming it exists). A lot of it depends on how long you want to keep the car.

Exactly right. Just call and say you want the service but not for $5/month. They won't let you cancel. My renewal came in at 3x that cost - I called them and played the game all over again.

As far as I know they no longer offer lifetime subscriptions. They offered them for only a year or so. It can be transferred to three devices and that's it.

I recently called to transfer my subscription from a car that I traded to my new car. I asked for a discount for 1 year of radio, traffic and weather .... the CSR was able to get me a 50% discount.

If you don't mind me asking, what did that 50% discount translate to for a fee? I'm looking to transfer my XM from a car I traded in as well, and I would like to keep the weather and trafffic.

In case anyone is looking for a monthly deal, I just got an email yesterday with an offer for $5/mo for 6 months:

"Extend your service today at the special rate of only $4.99* a month for 6 months - that's 65% off the standard monthly rate! Plus, we'll waive the activation fee (a $15 value), you won't have to pay anything until your trial ends** and there are no cancellation fees. Call Listener Care at and a representative will help you renew your service and select the plan that is the best value for you"
