Are you sure it's legal in your province?

^^ Very valid point and most likely it's not legal but we all know that it won't stop people from modding their cars .

Yes. You'll have to open the headlight to do so

It's your call, but it is illegal in many (if not most) jurisdictions in the US and Canada.
You might find this this thread useful:
Removing orange reflector from headlight? .
Also, see this discussion (it quotes some regional rules/laws):

Opening, painting, and resealing a headlight isn't hard but unless you REALLY want to, probably not worth it. The original pic of the subaru looks to have been painted on the outside and probably because that is WAY easier to do. However, as others have said, covering the amber reflector is not going to be "legal" but chances of getting pulled over for this is unlikely in many places unless you give them other reasons.

Yes i agree with you,
I was just thinking putting gloss black vinyl on top of amber area thats what it has been used in Subaru's pic and yes its unlikely to get pull over just for amber delete.
I have my rear signal lights and back up light with Neo chrome film, did not play with red tail lights and brake light at all. and VLT is almost 90%
i think its not Illegal, My red tail lamps reflectors are not covered at all.
whats unsafe IMO is smoking tint/film their whole taillight assembly, and people are still doing it

Ya the tinting of the taillights is not only not legal but unsafe, and asking to be rear-ended. As long as the reflectors are still visible from side and back(for tails) then you are good. I think the reflective surface needs to be a minimum surface area, but as long as the stock reflector is still completely visible, then it's good. the Neo Chrome film looks cool. And if anything, helps attract more visibility
