Your preferred interior/dashboard cleaner?

When I bought the new Elantra a month ago, I also bought some Armor All Cleaning Wipes. The instructions say to just rub the wipe on any surface, and let the surface dry. Bad idea!! They leave streaks and marks like crazy!

I today bought some Meguiar's interior detailer. I'd hoped to avoid the spray route, and really prefer wipes, but if all wipes will be as streaky as the Armor All, I think I'll pass on them.

What does everyone else use?

I use Turtle Wax interior detailer. It's a spray bottle, I apply it to a rag then wipe the dash down. It works well and smells great!

I use nothing. Have a small duster for the dash, etc. In the rare event I get a drop of anything (coffee?) I just use a damp cloth. Interior looks pristine like the day I bought it.

I also use Meguiar's Interior Detailer. It works well if you spray a microfiber towel with it, then wipe the dash. I also got some Maguiar's Natural Shine to try out, and so far I'm liking that, too. I'm not a fan of the super glossy and greasy look anymore.

NEVER use ArmorAll. In the long run it will dry out the rubber and lead to cracking and splitting. I'm like Rich...I just dust mine and if I need to, I have a dedicated interior cleaner made by Griot's Garage.

I've used ArmorAll once, perhaps twice on my car, but normally just dust the dashboard off. Is there anything I can do to "reverse" the potential damage?

You're probably okay, Holly. You could always use a damp cloth you soaked in some warm water that has a hint of soap.

Andrew is right about ArmorAll. I stay away from that product line...based on what few detailers I have known have told me in the past. Most of those guys usually prefer soap and water, drying with a micro fiber towel.

My interior is nearing its 1st birthday next month. It is spotless!

I only use a chamois dampened with nothing but water. If for some reason I encounter a stubborn stain, I'd apply some Orange Hand Cleaner to the chamois.

Never clean mine cos I find the dust prevents distracting windscreen reflections, also very useful to write little reminders in. Heh! Heh! Heh!

Before the days of Armor all, I used silicone spray. I don't recommend that. Ever since shining the seat to my motorcycle....... don't ask!
