Clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing noise ?

Hi everybody!

This is the noise:
At the Hyundai service, the transmission was removed.
The clutch is almost gone. Mechanic said that the flywheel and the throwout bearing are ok.
This is the flywheel :
They told me that I need a new clutch and than, if the noise is still there, they will remove the transmission again.
The estimate attached.
My car is 2007 Hyundai Sonata, manual trasmission, 76000 miles.
So, people, what do you think about this noise, the flywheel and estimate?
I would really appreciate any comments or advice you would have.

$1400 flywheel.. do a search for "dual mass"...

That friction plate in the movie is junk.. wobbling/rattling around all over...

You putting clutch in it, do it all the first time.. that or find an aftermarket performance clutch assembly with std style flywheel.. going be kinda pricey there too.

As for the estimate pricing.. they charging maybe 400% beyond regular Hyundai retail for the disc and plate..

I am going to speculate 30% over Hyundai retail for the flywheel..

4 qt of oil ??,, trans take a little over 2 1/2qt I think, and you DO NOT use GL5 in that trans... use the Hyundai GL4 stuff.. NO GL5 !!

If you can hold out till tomorrow, I can price it off my price guide at work.

They really bending you over there.. $3000 ???

A few points/questions:

-what brands are the parts they say they'll be using? Judging by the estimate, this is not a dealer?
-Check prices on Rock Auto. They have flywheels for about $750. I didn't check other sources. Rock Auto also has clutch kits and Auto 7 brand clutch parts. Auto 7 supposedly sources from OE suppliers.
-Also, check some online parts websites for the prices on the OE parts.
-Often, the flywheels don't have to be replaced but can be machined and reused. I'm not sure if that's possible on this model.

And I agree with SBR, the prices seem quite high on first blush.

Thank you for all your replies !

As of now I ordered and received :
The clutch kit
I got it from Rockauto.com, paid $943
On Rockauto.com it was listed for Sonata 2006
On it is for Sonata 2006-10
Hopefully it will fit my Sonata 2007.

Crankshaft rear seal (rear main seal) - $20

Input shaft seal - $8

Red Line GL-4 transmission oil 3 quarts - $48

Total parts - $1019

They charge 99.95 per hour. And it is 6.5 hours of work.
4.5 hours to remove and replace transmission and 2 hours !!! to replace clutch.
Hopefully they will not charge me for the seals installation.

At first I thought that it was a horrible price, but then I saw it includes the flywheel. I didn't know any clutch kits included that.

Whoa, you ordered a $950 parts kit that you aren't sure will fit your car?

There are lots of parts website catalogs that have errors. I always double check part numbers on the manufacturers website before ordering.

The Valeo website's catalog doesn't list any clutches for Sonatas after 2005.

I wouldn't hold out much hope of it fitting, but it could.

Here is an update !

The Valeo clutch kit fitted perfectly !
They put everything back together, I paid $750 labor and had the car back. The car is driving perfectly and clutch works fine.
But ....., I noticed rattle type sound when starting vehicle !
So, I went back to Hyndai service. They checked and heard the sound too. They decided to take out transmission again, because the sound was coming from inside.

Update.
I got back the car from Hyundai service. They did not identify the problem or didn't want to. I still have the noise when cranking.
I also noticed that there is almost no noise on cold start.
Thank you everybody for reading and replying.
