Went to my local Shell station the other day and while filling up there were two guys at a table with a new(?) product, which my Shell guy recommended also.

It's a spray can, named FW1, which is both a cleaner and a wax that's great removing tar and bugs grime. My car's front (white paint, oy!) was hit by about a thousand bugs driving down south to Champaign, and that stuff did a great job, indeed. It works much like wax, but much easier to apply (spray) and rub off.

I found their site at

Anybody else heared/tried this product?

I use Turtle Wax bug & Tar remover which "leaves a deep Wax shine". Works

pretty good. I love all those products at your site mama, but I see 3 Microfiber

Towels for $49.95, and they are $4.95 at the Family Dollar Store. Makes me

wonder about the prices on these products. How have you been. Thought you had

I paid a total of $35 (+ tax) for 3 (17.5 oz.) cans and a large Microfiber towel.
2 cans were $25, the 3rd they gave me free, and the towel was $10.-

I've been using wax for decades, but this seems so much easier, 'cause it's thinner, more liquidy and easier to wipe. It also works well on glass. The guy said one can would be enough for 1.5 to 2 cars, pointing at his car which was a Focus...

But, not knowing enough about this product, and based on its price, I wouldn't use it for my periodical wax job. It's more for a quick cleaning of the bad, paint damaging ugly stuff like tree sap, tar and bugs.

Again, I don't know how well it protects the paint and especially, for how long, compared to the old fashioned wax....

Its so hard to tell. I bought some [b]Meguiars Scratch X, a name brand product and it hardly worked. Yet I bought some amazing Blue Star Ointment X-OU812 (not the real name) and the stuff was amazing!

I've used ScratchX a ton and it works great. You have to keep working it in until it completely disappears.

When I was President of the Convertible Club I had a guy come in and demo this type of "waterless" wash at one of our meetings. I just can't see rubbing the dirt off my car with something I spray on. Just doesn't sound right. If I'm going to wash it I'll "drag" out the hose.

No matter what magical cleaner you use, sand, grit, and dirt should be rinsed off before you do any rubbing. If you rub them in, I guarantee they will cause micro scratches in your paint.

Best way is to blast the gross dirt with a hose, then pour soapy water all over the car, then rinse again. Now its time to apply soap or magic elixir, and wash the car with a sponge or microfiber.

Hey young man....don't put words in my mouth. I just stated it's not for me.

For some it's the cats meow. For others it's not.
