2012 Accent Knock Sensor location

Hello everyone, I cannot for the life of me find the location of the knock sensor in my 2012 Accent. I just replaced the radiator and had everything off up front unobstructed and couldn't find it. Looked in back, sides, but am completely stumped. I have found information on earlier models but not 2012+. If any Hyundai mechanics or others who have replaced one could tell me precisely where it's at I would be very grateful.

I don't know exactly where the sensor is mounted but on the 1.6 engine the connector for it is right next to the starter motor, so you'd get to it from below. It'll be a 2 pin black connector. Find the connector and follow the wire and it will lead you to the sensor.

Here's a picture of the location of the sensor on the engine as well as removal instructions. (Which are pretty simple )

Yes, it gave a knock/detonation sensor code and has been pinging during acceleration and uphill driving. The part is cheap so I thought it would be a good idea. I already did a carbon removal when it first started and that didn't help. Additives didn't help. I would be very happy to learn where this sensor is on 2012 model year if you're familiar. When I had the radiator out I could see what looks like the gray electrical connector but behind it is the intake manifold ( I think) and according to Hyundai diagrams the sensor is right there behind the manifold. I'm stumped on this one.

What was the DTC in Pxxxx format ?

Knock sensor is bolted to block, between cylinders 2 & 3 just below deck.. Intake plenum and GDI fuel rail hide it real well..

We seen 0326 DTC recently, went around with one a few time, Hyundai recently release program update

Thank you very much. This makes sense since I can see that gray electrical connector right out front under the manifold so now I just have to find a way down to the lower left area you've shown here. I really hope I can get to this without getting underneath the car as I don't have a lift like a shop.

Have the program update done first. They are usually done free by the dealer and it may solve your problem without having to spend an hour upside down on your back with dirt falling in your face.

I know...it looks like 15 minutes...you'll find out...
