First thing was a swap, the PS for the DS and the problem was the same with either light hooked up on the DS. I could find no "scars" on the wiring from the collision. I clipped the wires from the headlight wiring connector and connected the red wire directly to ground, since it's the gnd wire. when I touched it to ground, both light came on burning dim. This is without the key in and the headlight switch in the off position.
I'm so confused! The headlights are wired hot with the ground being swithched!??? If I bypassed the switch with a jumper to ground shouldn't they burn bright/normal?
There are 3 wires to each HL fixture, a white, red and green. If the HLs are wired in parallel, I should get continuity across like colored wires, shouldn't I?
I've temporarily hard wired the HL with battery clamps the DS headlight to the battery so I can drive it at night. I'll be back at it tonight after I see what the wiring diagram tells me.
