I have a 2005 santa fe with the monsoon stereo package. I blew the door speaker and wanted to replace it with a pioneer component set I bought. The problem is when I took off the door panel I found that there are two speakers stacked one on top of the other with a tweeter mounted up high near the window. My problem is that I have three sets of wires coming from the factory amp (one set for each speaker)
Since my pioneer speakers come with its own crossover I need a set of wires sending a full range audio signal. It seems that the factory amp has a crossover inside the amp sending a split signal (highs to tweeter, mids to one door speaker and lows to the third door speaker). Is there any way to connect a set of aftermarket speakers and keeping the rest of the factory components in tact (factory stereo and amplifier)?

I am getting ready to replace all of the speakers in my 2004 GLS w/monsoon.
I am going to be adding Infinity Kappa's.
Are there in fact 2 speakers in the front door...one on top of the other?
I've never encountered that in my previous vehicles...but I've never had anything with a factory amp either.
Do I need to buy 2 speakers for each of the front doors, or can I just buy 1 for each? How would I wire those with the interface?
Does anyone have a picture of the speakers with the door panel off?

Spawn is an unknown quantity at this point
That's a new one for me, I only have the 2 sets of wires in my doors (speaker and tweeter), but I didn't get the monsoon deck. I checked on webtech and there are no specific instructions for the Monsoon system.

i have an 05 gls with the monsoon system. i wanted to upgrade my speakers and headunit (radio). i did alot of reasearch on the wiring and came to the conclusion it would be easier to run new wires to the speakers, that way if i wanted to sell the santy down the road i could just take my new stuff out and put the old speakers and radio back in. i used infinity kappa component set in the front doors and kappa 2 ways in the rear. i also added a pioneer radio/cd player in the dash. the radio was an easy install with a dash kit, wiring harness and antanna adaptor. running new speaker wires to each rear speaker was not that bad just time consuming as you have to remove alot of trim pieces. the door speakers were another story all together. i mounted the 6 1/2 down where the stock speakers were. the tweeter that came with my set mounted in the stock factory location up on the door wing, i took the stock one out and cut the wing panel and installed the tweeter there. i mounted the crossovers under the dash on a flat piece of black plastic under the steering wheel. the door factory wiring is run thru what they call a molex. its basicaly just a bigger male/female plug in so if you needed to replace the whole door you just unbolt it and unplug the molex and off comes the door. i found some openings in the molex that didnt have wires in them and drilled them out and ran my wires thru that and then thru the rubber wire covering so when i was done i just plugged the molex back together. i have pictures somewhere of all this, ill try and find them and post. it was an all day project but in the end it was worth it. with everything back together everything looks stock and sounds great. any questions just let me know.
