Magnaflow Exhaust- Worth it?

Hey guys, I know a few of you have installed the Magnaflow exhaust on your Sonatas, did you do a full exhaust switch or did you just install 2 Magnaflow mufflers? I'd love your thoughts about what you did, the cost, and if you have noticed a difference with it. Thanks, peace.

"Worth it" is a bit subjective. Performance will be no change to be noticed. Not sure of sound you may be looking for. I am a fan a Magnaflow, for "typical" sound, with less drone, and stainless steel is really the only way to go.

I have wondered the same thing and look forward to the comments. One thing I don't want is a car that sounds like a fat bumble bee farting as it heads down the road. Ha! Speaking of stainless steel, what are the OEM exhaust systems on our Sonata's made of?

OEM Sonata is stainless steel. I put a Magnaflow muffler on mine, and got tired of it. The stock system is too quiet for my tastes, but the Magnaflow was too loud, and the freeway drone was just a couple steps up from a Civic fart can. It did sound good near redline.

You have a 2.0T or the 2.4? The only catback borla shows is for the 2.0T, but I'm not sure how different the exhausts really are. I have a 2.4 SE and would think the exhaust is pretty much the same as the 2.0T

Spacing, muffler size and shape can effect tone a lot. It is difficult to get a 4 cylinder for having that fart can sound. Such low pressure attempting to "make noise" is heck trying to engineer out.

Check youtube for sound clips of the different exhausts on these cars. Many fall typical. Yoshi has some up too, but he is far beyond "just an exhaust."

Good points. I wanted to add a second resonator to reduce drone and loudness, but it was going to be a lot of work, and expensive since there isn't very much room down the center of the underbelly. Hyundai was doing it's best to make the interior floor as flat as possible. The OEM mufflers are short and very wide, taking advantage of what little room there is.

if you are N/A you arent going to notice anything performance wise, in order to increase performance with exhaust modifications you will have to replace the headers, downpipe, cat, mufflers, either keep or toss the resonators (kep them or sound like open ass) and then get a tune. i bought them bc i like a mean ass sound

There I was ...contemplating on a turbo...and off in the distance I heard a distinctive loud roar....
